The historic 266-seat Brooklyn Music School Playhouse is available for rental. Conveniently located in the Downtown Brooklyn/BAM Cultural District, the theater's facilities can accommodate a wide range of performing arts events such as concerts, dance and music recitals, community meetings, educational seminars, plays and other disciplines. The theater has hosted commercial and movie shoots and was most recently used as a location for a NYU graduate thesis film. The Playhouse features a Spanish-style proscenium theater, rusticated walls, wrought iron chandeliers, and ornamental "Juliets" flanking the stage.

Hours Of Operation Theater is available for booking, Specific hours may be negotiated.
Rental Policy The Theater Manager will draft a rental contract. Any additional days/hours will be at the convenience and option of The Licensor, and must be agreed to in writing and paid for at the time of the signing of such writing at least one day prior to any such additional day. The Licensee shall be assessed $ 150.00 per hour for excess usage of more than one day. The fee for said use of premises is TBA total, in which covers the following: a) A minimum of four hours performance time and one hour rehearsal time, in total five hours. b) A theater manager. The entire sum of the negotiated contract to be paid by cashier’s or certified check upon the execution of this rental contract, receipt of which sum is hereby acknowledged and handed to the Theater Manager along with two signed copies of the contract, one of which will be countersigned and returned. a. The required deposit is 25% of the total rental fee, though it may vary depending on the client and the contracted usage volume. 2. a) A security deposit from Licensee in the amount of $200 shall be paid over to Licensor before or upon signing of this contract and shall be retained by Licensor, in whole or in part, for damages to the premises caused by Licensee, for Licensee’s failure to restore the premises to Licensor in the same condition as when received by Licensee, to cover costs of cancellation of contract by Licensee or for other breaches of this contract by Licensee. The deposit shall be made in cash or by check made payable to The Brooklyn Music School. Refund of the deposit will be processed within two weeks of your load-out. It shall be returned to Licensee upon satisfactory compliance of these terms. b) The Licensee, irrespective of any other language herein contained, will provide the Theater Manager with a your company or organization’s certificate of insurance, including The Brooklyn Music School as named an insured facility representing that it has secure general liability insurance of the amount not less than $1,000,000 covering damage to the premises and any injury to any of its workers and other persons on the premises, and submit a copy of the accord naming the Brooklyn Music School to be on file before commencement date of performance, and that the name of said Company and the Policy Number are, respectively: (Name of Insurance Company) (Policy Number) This policy specifically covers: (Name of Licensee/Company) 3. The Licensor agrees to provide the licensed premises in broom-clean condition. The Licensee shall use diligence and care to preserve the premises, and shall restore it to its original condition in the event of any damage or loss, said restoration to be completed within 4 working days. If restoration is not completed in 4 days or in accordance to Licensor’s wishes, Licensor will not return part or all of deposit (section 2a) paid by Licensee.
