'It is a gloriously regal space that has been featured in many prominent films such as Kinsey, A Beautiful Mind, etc. As such, it has a very strong "period look".
As a space, however, it does have some limitations. The stage does not have curtains, has columns, and there are no dressing rooms.
A/V equipment is not built into the space and has to be provided separately. Overtime costs for AV Union staff providing and monitoring the equipment is paid separately by the user especially if work is scheduled before or after their regular 9 -5 work hours..NYC OT rates apply.
The space is not directly accessible for disabled individuals from the main entrance to the building. Disabled individuals have to enter the space from behind the building, which is down a hill and through a corridor on the side entrance.
We have a wide variety of spaces that can be used for filming, performances, and so forth. Classroom space is limited due to classes running from 8:00 am - 10:00 pm M-F, and 8:00 am - 6:00 pm on Saturdays. Please contact the Director of Administrative & Events Management Services for all details.

|Restrictions On Use||Per CUNY regulations, college activities and events take precedence over requests from outside users. The space is not available for use during registration cycles (August-September, January- February), or during finals in December and in May. Because the dates change each year, finals are held on or about the 15th of December and May, through to the 23rd of December and May 23rd. This applies to all classrooms and other lecture hall spaces on campus. Because the building is a National Landmark, balloons, posters and other accoutrements cannot be affixed to the walls or the columns. The capacity is 500 people. NO BALCONY SEATING. No smoking in any CUNY building. No food or beverages.|

Contact me via email at email@example.com with all pertinent details to check availability. For example, if you are planning a dance or theatrical performance, you must include all rehearsal dates and times, as well as the actual performance dates and times.
College activities take precedence over outside user requests per CUNY rules.
The space cannot be used for weddings, memorial services, baby showers and other personal events because of liability insurance concerns. In addition, the College does not schedule religious services as we would have to make the space available to all religious groups, which is not possible given the extensive event load for the campus itself.
|Hours Of Operation||Space is open by request M - F all day, and weekends all day. The space is not available during all Holidays because the College is closed. |Miscellaneous||Important note: There is no "load in" access to the Gould Memorial Library building for film shoot cabling, etc. This is because a previous road that led directly to the front of the building is now closed. In its replacement is a new library. Hence, the roadway that once existed only partially exists immediately in front of the building. Currently, as of August 6th, 2014, extensive underground infrastructure work is impeding roadway access to various internal areas of the campus, including the aforementioned building. PARKING IS EXTREMELY LIMITED AND IS ON A FIRST COME/FIRST SERVED BASIS, ESPECIALLY DURING CLASS TIME. ARRANGEMENTS CAN BE MADE FOR SOME RESERVED PARKING PROVIDED THAT THE COLLEGE RECEIVE A LIST OF VEHICLES AND THEIR OWNERS.|
